Sawbill Village is a NEW multi-use development in Tofte, Minnesota. After construction, it will have 6 brand new ADA accessible apartments available for Cook County residents to rent. It will also have 3 retail spaces, and 1 restaurant space available for lease.
Sawbill Village will be a two-story building designed to meet two critical needs of those living in the West End of Cook County, Minnesota:

NEW AFFORDABLE HOUSING ON THE NORTH SHORE, MN
Affordable housing in Cook County, MN has been identified as a critical need for local residents and businesses.

Sawbill Village will offer 6 two-bedroom apartments designed with usability in mind. Amenities like spacious apartments, heated indoor storage, and the use of an indoor gathering space make this property unique.
New jobs and opportunities are needed, but three key challenges inhibit the launch of new businesses in the West ond of Cook County, MN:​

Location - In order to get foot traffic, the retail space must be located around other things to do.
Tofte is a gateway for over 1.1+ million people who come to visit the North Shore and Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness each year. There is a demand by both Tofte residents and North Shore visitors for more restaurants and retail shops in the area.

By providing retail space for lease, Sawbill Village provides an opportunity for new entrepreneurs and business owners to fill the need for more shops and restaurants in Tofte.
Aspiring businesses can move in and start a business without needing to buy or build. This enables more businesses to open in Tofte, which will drive economic development in Cook County, MN's West End.

WHO IS BUILDING SAWBILL VILLAGE?
Sawbill Village is being developed and operated by Rob Dieter, owner of Red Five, LLC.
Red Five, LLC was established solely to find solutions to Cook County, Minnesota’s identified critical needs of affordable housing and retail space.
Rob’s interest is in expanding the sense of community by supporting the needs of local residents in Cook County. He is not affiliated with any other local business, resorts, employee programs, etc.
